About The Position

STV is growing and seeking an experienced and motivated Highway Project Engineer to join their Transportation team in Pennsylvania. This role involves contributing to a diverse portfolio of roadway, highway, and transit projects, focusing on delivering innovative, high-quality solutions that meet project schedules, budgets, and client expectations. The position requires strong experience with MicroStation InRoads and offers the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and work on impactful infrastructure projects across the state.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related field
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Pennsylvania
  • Minimum 6 years of transportation engineering experience with a strong focus on roadway and geometric design
  • Strong proficiency in MicroStation InRoads
  • Experience with signing, pavement markings, and traffic control plans
  • Familiarity with PennDOT, AASHTO, and FHWA design standards
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree
  • Familiarity with Bentley OpenRoads Designer
  • Experience with traffic signals and ITS
  • Stormwater management and Erosion & Sedimentation Control design/permitting experience
  • Professional society involvement

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine 3D models, alignments, profiles, corridors, and cross-sections for transportation projects
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers in highway geometry and modeling software best practices
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, surveyors, planners, and project managers
  • Prepare detailed roadway, highway, and transit infrastructure plans and technical specifications
  • Conduct design reviews, constructability analyses, and quality control checks
  • Assist with project reports, client presentations, and communications
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in OpenRoads and related tools
