Manage the assets of multiple operations units which may include: Develop, implement and monitor an annual work program assuring the scheduled work activities and production can be accomplished within the allotted annual budget; compose a strategic plan in line with the department's goals; supervise multiple unit supervisors; accountable for incident response and Incident management. In addition, be responsible for ensuring proper operation and maintenance of the light and heavy equipment fleet assigned to the multiple units, ensure that the HOT Supervisors and technicians are properly trained and qualified in the department's various training programs. Provide input into the project development process: Work with the District Managers and HOT Supervisors in establishing areas for repairs and major rehabilitation; review plans and specifications, project assessments, attend field reviews and provide technical support. The Operations Superintendent is responsible for assuring that the public's investment in its highway system is preserved and safe to travel upon.
