About The Position

Selected applicants must register as a driver in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse. The final candidate will be placed in the classification for which they meet minimum qualifications. Requirements
- Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction.
- Ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary.
- Must obtain Class B Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction (for Highway Maintenance Worker 1).
- Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction, decimals, percentages & fractions (for Highway Technician 1).
- 3 months of training or 3 months of experience in the operation of basic equipment (for Highway Technician 1).
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction (for Highway Technician 1).
Nice To Haves
- Already a licensed CDL holder.
Responsibilities
- Serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer.
- Attend training to obtain CDL licensure if not already a licensed CDL holder.
- Perform highway maintenance activities, including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, and mowing.
- Perform snow & ice operations.
