Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Highway Maintenance Technicians to perform advanced maintenance operations in the Dallas - Fort Worth, TX area during the day shift, mid shift, and night shift. This position is based in Joshua, TX and requires performing a variety of tasks related to snow and ice, guardrail and attenuator repair/replacement, signs, lighting/electrical work, mowing, tree trimming, incident response, drainage cleaning, debris removal, and asphalt/concrete repairs, and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures. Schedule flexibility is a must, as there may be 10 – 20% of night work involved.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of related experience
  • Must have a valid Driver's License
  • Construction or Roadway maintenance experience
  • Guardrail and Sign installation experience
  • Concrete forming/repair experience
  • MOT (Traffic control certifications/courses)
  • Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, Fork Lift, Asphalt Roller, etc operator
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
  • Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical & Roadway maintenance experience
  • CDL license a plus
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish (read/write) preferred but not required
  • Clean driving record is essential

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced maintenance operations
  • Perform a variety of tasks related to snow and ice, guardrail and attenuator repair/replacement, signs, lighting/electrical work, mowing, tree trimming, incident response, drainage cleaning, debris removal, and asphalt/concrete repairs
  • Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures
  • Safely perform electrical work at assigned areas
  • Work at varied heights
  • Use shovels, weed trimming machinery, brooms, & various small hand tools
  • Operate air compressors
  • Carry out simple arithmetic functions
  • Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
  • Adapt to the latest technology
  • Use smart phone and applications
  • Adjust to changing work schedule
  • Work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Operate hand/power tools
