About The Position

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. (Jorgensen) is a world leader in maintenance management, providing facility and highway infrastructure, consulting, maintenance, and management services for over 65 years. Our firm focuses on the operations and maintenance of transportation and public works infrastructure assets, employing professional engineers, certified quality control inspectors, and experienced maintenance technicians. We are currently seeking full-time Highway Maintenance Technicians to perform maintenance operations in the North Austin, Texas area, specifically on IH35. This role involves a variety of tasks including highway maintenance, debris removal, sign and guardrail repair, and concrete repair, while adhering to all applicable regulations and company policies.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED
Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
Carry out simple arithmetic functions
Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
Ability to use smart phone and applications
Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly while twisting; other strenuous manual labor may be required
Ability to operate hand/power tools
Clean driving record is essential
Must pass criminal background check
0-2 years of construction labor experience (commercial, industrial, roadway, heavy civil, warehouse, etc.)

Nice To Haves

Experience in guardrail installation and repair
Roadway or tollway maintenance experience
Concrete form work, concrete placement, and repairs
Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, ForkLift, Asphalt Roller, etc operator
MOT Certifications (traffic control)
CDL A License a plus

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance operations on highways, including debris removal, sign and guardrail repair, and concrete repair.
Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.
Perform a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance.
Work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions.
Lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly while twisting; perform other strenuous manual labor as required.
Operate hand and power tools.
Be placed on an on-call schedule.
Work during snow and ice events.
