About The Position

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Highway Maintenance Supervisor to perform and oversee highway maintenance operations in the Houston, TX area. The position is based in Porter, TX and is responsible for maintenance work program and scheduling, and highway maintenance and construction activities. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, including but not limited to the supervision of crews performing debris removal, guardrail repair, maintenance of traffic, and other activities. Adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen company policies and procedures is required.

Requirements

Minimum of five (5) years of highway construction maintenance industry related experience
Basic knowledge Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Google Earth
Strong Leadership qualities; must have experience in overseeing, directing and leading construction crews
Strong organizational skills for timesheets and inventory tracking, scheduling & work planning as well as oversight of maintenance crews to ensure work execution/completion
Roadway or guardrail maintenance experience
Concrete forming/repair experience
Operator experience with Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, ForkLift, Asphalt Roller, etc.
Clean driving record is essential
Must pass criminal background check
High School Diploma/GED
Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
Carry out simple arithmetic functions
Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
Ability to use smart phone and applications
Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds repeatedly while twisting; other strenuous manual labor may be required
Ability to operate hand/power tools

Nice To Haves

Experience with projects using TxDOT standard specifications
MOT Certifications (traffic control)
CDL License a plus
Construction management experience/education a plus
