CDOT has a vacancy for a Highway Maintenance Specialist in SE Denver, CO and will provide training to obtain your CDL. This position requires that you obtain your CDL Permit within 30 days of hire and your CDL Class A or B within 120 days of hire as a condition of continued employment. This position will require either a pre-employment drug test (if you currently have a regular driver’s license) or a DOT drug test (if you already have your CDL Permit or CDL) as a pre-employment step. As part of the process to obtain your CDL permit, you will be required to take a DOT physical and DOT drug test. Total annual compensation for this position is $65,934 ($53,934 base pay and $12,000 housing stipend) Base pay for this position is $2,074.39 /biweekly ($53,934/annually). There are 26 biweekly pay periods in a year. This location is also eligible for an additional $1,000 month housing stipend. The annualized hourly rate for this position is $25.93 hour, with an overtime rate of $38.89/hour. Your daily work activities change based on project needs and also vary based on weather, environment, and road conditions. You will be on-call on a rotating basis as well as subject to call to respond to weather and other emergencies. You will typically work in a team environment, as each maintenance patrol location has at least one lead highway maintenance specialist and multiple highway maintenance specialists.
