Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Highway Maintenance/Herbicide Technician to perform highway maintenance operations in Buffalo, TX. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance cleanup and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures. Will report to Buffalo Yard daily, and occasionally report to the office in Huntsville, TX.

Requirements

Valid Texas Drivers License
Must be able to read, write, and speak Spanish
Clean driving record is essential
Must pass criminal background check
High School Diploma/GED
Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
Carry out simple arithmetic functions
Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
Ability to use smart phone and applications
Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
Ability to operate hand/power tools

Nice To Haves

Roadway maintenance experience
Herbicide experience
MOT Certifications (traffic control)
Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, ForkLift, Asphalt Roller, etc operator
Concrete forming/repair experience
CDL A License a plus

Responsibilities

Perform highway maintenance operations in Buffalo, TX.
Perform a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance cleanup.
Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.
Report to the Buffalo Yard daily, and occasionally report to the office in Huntsville, TX.
Work special projects when needed and during weather events.
Work snow and ice events.
