Requirements

  • Three years as a Highway Foreman 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Five years of technical experience in highway maintenance or highway construction; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare plans and estimates for maintenance tasks such as paving, patching, widening, and snow removal
  • Recommend the use of equipment, materials, and staffing to meet program goals
  • Check ongoing and finished work to ensure policy, quality, and plan compliance
  • Meet with employees, officials, union representatives, and property owners to explain operations and resolve concerns
  • Support new methods, review complaints, and help improve production and quality
  • Promote safe practices, monitor conditions, and encourage accident prevention measures
