This position supports the County Maintenance Manager by guiding maintenance activities throughout Crawford County. Within this role, you will help with coordinating plans, resources, and communication to ensure for effective operations.

Requirements

  • Three years as a Highway Foreman 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Five years of technical experience in highway maintenance or highway construction; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Able to perform essential job functions.
  • Pass a background investigation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare plans and estimates for roadway projects including paving, repair, and snow removal
  • Recommend how equipment, manpower, and materials should be utilized to reach program goals
  • Check work in progress and completed tasks for policy, quality, and plan compliance
  • Meet with employees, officials, and community members to explain operations and resolve issues
  • Encourage safe work practices and awareness of conditions that prevent accidents
  • Assign tasks, evaluate performance, and support employee training and development
