HIGHWAY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC I
About The Position
Highway Equipment Mechanics maintain, repair, and modify medium (GVWR 10,500-26,000 lbs.) and heavy (GVWR greater than 26,000 lbs.) highway maintenance and construction equipment. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. The Nevada Department of Transportation is recruiting to fill the Highway Equipment Mechanic I position in Ely, Nevada. The Highway Equipment Mechanic I position is responsible for diagnosing and repairing light- duty, medium-duty, and heavy-duty equipment. This position is responsible for responding to field service calls and improvising as necessary to perform field repairs.
