About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Estimator for our Highway & Bridge division. The Estimator is responsible for securing bids, reviewing plans and specifications, and building professional relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. These projects can include bridges, highways, dams and utility infrastructure. The Estimator prepares estimates for part or all the project and must work as part of a team. The successful candidate should possess an Engineering or Construction Management degree or background along with applicable field experience, strong computer skills, and good communication skills. Please note that this position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with Kinsley Construction policies and procedures.

Requirements

Strong computer skills along with proficient written/verbal communication.
Experience with PENNDOT, MDSHA, WVDOT, DELDOT, or VDOT projects.
Experience with HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, AGTEK or similar take-off software, and Microsoft Office.
Degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

Dam project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Navigation of construction drawings and specifications.
Develop scope of work and prepare bid tabulation sheets.
Prepare accurate take-offs.
Perform site visits and attend Prebid meetings.
Prepare detailed estimates and proposals.
Professionally communicate with owners, engineers and vendors.
Obtain competitive pricing from material suppliers and subcontractors as required; gather interest from subcontractors and suppliers on projects by phone (primary) and email communication.
Perform other related duties as required.
