About The Position

At Canva, the Higher Education Account Executive team helps educational institutions create stunning visual content that inspires and engages students. The team consists of experienced sales consultants with a passion for education and a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges of higher education institutions. Account Executives collaborate closely with colleges and universities to understand their teaching, communication, and connection methods, offering solutions that facilitate content sharing for faculty, help marketing teams reach future students, and support all departments in creating visuals for learning and growth. The team is committed to building long-term relationships and providing exceptional customer service. As a Higher Education Account Executive, the role involves owning the end-to-end university lifecycle across the LATAM territory, driving strategy, execution, and results for a portfolio of institutions. This position partners closely with Customer Success to help universities successfully adopt and scale Canva, from onboarding through long-term engagement and growth. It is a highly relationship-driven role, requiring close collaboration with administrators, faculty, and students to deliver impactful, campus-wide implementations. The Account Executive will combine strategic sales thinking with a deep understanding of user behavior to identify opportunities for adoption expansion, retention improvement, and the achievement of meaningful educational outcomes. Over time, the role involves building and executing data-informed growth strategies, exceeding revenue targets, and positioning Canva as a trusted partner and thought leader in the education space.

Requirements

  • Experience with the Higher Education Market, understanding university efficiency solutions and able to communicate with Instructional Technology Specialists and professors on how Canva can improve student learning outcomes through design and collaboration.
  • Fluency in Spanish is required to confidently engage, present, and build relationships with university stakeholders across the LATAM region.
  • Sales Expertise, comfortable selling education software solutions combined with real-world teaching and instructional technology design to drive MAU growth across institutions.
  • Excellent Collaboration skills, enjoying working alongside direct team and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with Implementing new Technologies, with a deep understanding of how institutions roll-out new student technology and how University-wide deployments operate.
  • Effective Communication skills, creating clarity by making complex things simple and confidently presenting ideas and telling compelling stories to customers and the broader team.
  • Strong Business Planning Skills, with the ability to move from planning through to implementation and complete projects that deliver high impact.
  • Experience in Community Management, understanding social media standard processes and tactics for educating audiences.
  • Growth Mindset, eager to learn and develop skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own the university lifecycle, including strategy, planning, execution, and results within identified universities alongside a Higher Education (HED) Customer Success Manager to drive additional MAU growth.
  • Foster relationships with university administration, onboarding university staff, professors, and students via Single-Sign-on, and providing strategic sales support for successful deployment of Canva across multiple campus departments and campus-wide implementations.
  • Run a healthy and predictable business that delivers a jointly agreed customer transformation strategy focused on educational outcomes within universities.
  • Establish close relationships with the community of educators and learners to understand their needs for becoming successful Canva users.
  • Utilize data analysis to identify trends and usage patterns to inform future product and marketing plans.
  • Continuously test, learn, and iterate on the lifecycle strategy at identified districts to build meaningful and impactful relationships.
