The High Voltage Transmission Lead Technician inspects, maintains, and repairs high-voltage transmission lines, towers, and related equipment to ensure safe and reliable system performance. This role coordinates emergency response and restoration efforts with NYPA, contractors, and field crews, while overseeing testing, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance to minimize outages and maintain system reliability. The Long Island Sound Cable is a 345 kV underground transmission system spanning 26.3 miles between Yonkers and Long Island, commissioned in 1991. The system includes the South Transition Station and associated high-voltage infrastructure supporting reliable power delivery across the New York metropolitan area.
