High Voltage Test Lab Technician Charlotte, NC HSP US: Building the Future of Energy HSP US is rapidly expanding as we establish a world‑class high‑voltage manufacturing and testing hub in Charlotte, North Carolina. As we scale, we are hiring High Voltage Test Lab Technicians to support the testing, validation, and performance assurance of high‑voltage components used across the power grid. You’ll work with advanced high‑voltage test systems, precision instrumentation, and engineering teams to ensure our products meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance. Requirements

  • Community College diploma in Electrical/Electronic Technology or an associate‑level electrical certification
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working with low-voltage or high-voltage circuits
  • Ability to read and interpret AC and DC electrical schematics
  • Strong critical‑thinking skills with a solid understanding of electromagnetic theory and circuit analysis
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the Windows operating system
  • English language fluency (reading, writing, and speaking)
  • Ability to distinguish color differences
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work at height using elevating platforms
  • Ability to work shift rotations as required
  • Experience using test instruments such as impedance analyzers, breakdown testers, wattmeters, micro‑ohmmeters, and oscilloscopes
  • Familiarity with LabView or other laboratory software
  • Knowledge of root‑cause analysis methods
  • Familiarity with relevant international standards

Responsibilities

  • Take command of advanced high‑voltage test systems and bring them to life through precise setup, calibration, and execution.
  • Energize components with controlled high voltage while monitoring performance with expert focus and technical confidence.
  • Become the guardian of product reliability by validating every detail before components move into the grid.
  • Capture every voltage, current, waveform, and anomaly with accuracy that engineers rely on.
  • Transform raw test data into clear, actionable reports that drive engineering decisions and product improvements.
  • Develop and refine test procedures that raise the bar for quality, safety, and repeatability.
  • Evaluate test outcomes and identify opportunities to enhance equipment performance and testing efficiency.
  • Play a key role in continuous improvement by supporting root‑cause analysis and technical problem-solving.
  • Lead by example in a high‑voltage lab where safety is non-negotiable.
  • Maintain strict adherence to PPE, interlocks, lockout/tagout, and all high-voltage safety protocols.
  • Ensure the test lab remains a safe, organized, and high-performance environment for every team member.
  • Monitor and maintain test equipment to ensure accuracy, reliability, and readiness for every test cycle.
  • Identify and report equipment issues early to prevent downtime and protect product quality.
  • Support facility upkeep to maintain a world‑class testing environment.
