About The Position
The High School Tennis Coach is responsible for overseeing the boys' and girls' tennis programs. The coach will provide leadership in developing and implementing a strong, competitive tennis program that promotes teamwork, skill development, sportsmanship, and character both on and off the court.
Requirements
- Current teaching position in Western Heights Public Schools or Lay Coach
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Minimum)
- State Licensure or Certification
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and supervise practice sessions for both boys and girls tennis teams.
- Teach fundamental and advanced tennis techniques, game strategies, and conditioning.
- Promote a culture of high academic and athletic achievement.
- Maintain discipline and enforce school and team rules.
- Manage equipment and uniforms, including inventory and maintenance.
- Attend all scheduled matches, tournaments, and practices.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school staff.
- Monitor student-athlete eligibility and academic progress.
- Ensure compliance with district, conference, and state athletic regulations (e.g., OSSAA).
- Support offseason training and development opportunities when appropriate.
- Promote inclusivity and respect among team members.
