•$64,419 - $71,372•Remote

About The Position

The California Virtual Academies (CAVA) is a network of 9 public charter schools providing online/virtual home-based instruction to students in grades TK-12 across California. Utilizing K12, inc. curriculum and the Engageli platform for live instruction, CAVA offers a unique educational experience. While providing scheduling flexibility, students are still required to engage daily with online coursework and attend instructional sessions. High School teachers manage a caseload of both content and homeroom students. They deliver standards-based instruction in virtual classrooms, support students with coursework, offer one-to-one assistance, and provide timely feedback and grading. A key aspect of the role involves building relationships with homeroom students through daily sessions, consistent outreach, and monitoring attendance, progress, and engagement, with interventions provided as needed. Teachers are expected to plan and attend in-person outings and events, often with locally assigned homeroom students. Communication with learning coaches and families is regular via telephone, web conferencing, and email. Teachers conduct quarterly parent/teacher/student conferences, attend virtual meetings, and participate in PLCs, data conferencing, and professional development, both virtually and in-person. Face-to-face tutoring and other in-person opportunities with students may also occur. All teachers are required to proctor state testing.
