To teach students in a manner that they can apply the knowledge and skills required for College and Career Readiness in accordance with the Mississippi Framework and Common Core Curriculum. The position involves developing and implementing curriculum plans, preparing lessons with accommodations for individual differences, and assessing student learning. The teacher will work cooperatively with other staff, including special education teachers, and may supervise teacher aides and volunteers. Responsibilities include using technology, assisting students with study habits, assessing student achievement, and potentially assuming responsibility for extracurricular activities. The role requires instructing students in citizenship and subject matter, creating a conducive learning environment, managing student behavior, and taking precautions to protect students and materials. The teacher will also assist in selecting instructional materials, evaluating student growth, maintaining communication with parents, and identifying student needs. Professional development and participation in faculty meetings and committees are expected. The teacher will use student data to guide instruction and professional development.
