This role is for a High School Teacher specializing in Career and Technical Education (CTE). The primary responsibility is to foster the mental, physical, emotional, and social growth of assigned students. The teacher will utilize available instructional materials and various techniques to provide opportunities for student achievement and development, demonstrating knowledge of appropriate developmental practices. Key duties include maintaining accurate records, ensuring a safe and attractive classroom environment, implementing effective classroom management, and completing administrative tasks in a timely manner. The position requires planning and preparing lessons, submitting weekly lesson plans, and reporting punctually to work. The teacher will also be responsible for managing classroom finances, maintaining assigned books and equipment, and staying informed about system methods, programs, and resources. Diagnostic and placement methods will be used, and the teacher must exhibit self-control and provide for individual differences. Continuous evaluation of student progress and planning based on student needs are essential. Cooperation with school personnel, encouraging parent involvement, and demonstrating professional growth through inservice training and faculty meetings are expected. The teacher must conform to Louisiana laws regarding student education, health, safety, and welfare, and assist in developing quality education within Jefferson Parish Public Schools. Participation in the evaluation process and performing other duties assigned by the principal are also required.
