High School Student Pastor

Christian Life CenterDayton, OH

About The Position

Christian Life Center is an Assemblies of God church in the Dayton area with a passion for Spirit-led worship, genuine community, and reaching the next generation. We believe that students are not the future of the Church — they are the Church right now. Our NextGen ministry exists to call students into a real, lasting relationship with Jesus and to equip them to live it out loud. We are looking for someone who shares that conviction and is ready to build something that lasts. The Role: The High School Student Pastor leads our 9th–12th grade student ministry with vision, relational depth, and organizational excellence. This is not a program manager position — it is a shepherd role. You will teach God's Word with clarity and conviction, build a volunteer culture that multiplies your impact, partner with parents as the primary spiritual leaders of their students, and create an environment where students encounter Jesus and grow into who He has called them to be. This role requires someone who can lead from both the front and the side — a communicator who moves a room and a pastor who knows students by name.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Ministry, Theology, or Christian Education preferred
  • Ordained or licensed with the Assemblies of God — or willing and eligible to pursue credentialing
  • 3+ years of experience leading in student ministry
  • A genuine shepherd's heart and the organizational capacity to back it up
  • Strong communicator — equally comfortable in front of 200 students or around a small group table
  • A team builder who leads with humility, vision, and accountability
  • Models a healthy personal, marriage, and family life consistent with biblical leadership
  • Active, growing faith and full alignment with CLC's mission, values, and Assemblies of God doctrine
  • Must successfully complete a background check prior to employment

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Teach: Deliver relevant, biblically sound weekly and midweek teaching to High School students
  • Lead small groups that create real accountability, discipleship, and spiritual growth
  • Speak into students' everyday lives — not just on Sunday
  • Build and Develop: Recruit, train, and invest in a healthy team of adult volunteer leaders
  • Identify and develop student leaders within the ministry
  • Partner with parents, equipping and communicating with them as the front line of spiritual formation
  • Create and Execute: Oversee worship and creative arts within the High School ministry, drawing primarily from student talent
  • Plan and execute events that connect students relationally — and open doors for their unchurched friends
  • Develop and steward a ministry budget with integrity and attention to detail
  • Collaborate and Serve: Work closely with the NextGen Team and broader CLC staff to advance a unified ministry vision
  • Participate in district Assemblies of God student ministry events and activities
  • Fulfill general pastoral responsibilities at CLC — weddings, funerals, congregational care — as needed

  • Medical, Dental, Vision
  • Employer paid Disability Coverage (Short-Term and Long-Term)
  • 13 Paid Holidays
  • Generous Paid Time Off Schedule
  • Retirement Plan with 6% Employer Match
  • Incredible Team Environment
