About The Position

Seeking a compassionate and dedicated High School Special Education Teacher committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will develop and implement individualized educational programs that support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth. Key Responsibilities Implement, and manage IEPs in compliance with state standards Differentiate and adapt curriculum to meet diverse learning needs Implement life skills curriculum Integrate Behavior Intervention Plans as directed from the BCBA Provide push-in, pull-out, small group, and one-on-one instruction Utilize effective classroom and behavioral management strategies Conduct assessments and monitor student progress through data and standardized testing Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture where students feel supported and empowered Educating students ages 13-18

Requirements

  • MA/MS required
  • One of the following NYS certifications required: Students with Disabilities (Birth–2nd Grade), Initial or Professional Teacher of Speech & Language Disabilities (TSSLD), Initial or Professional
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Experience with curriculum development and differentiated instruction
  • Knowledge of behavioral management and childhood development principles
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student advocacy

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in private or urban school settings preferred
