Match Charter Public School is seeking a High School Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role is based at their high school campus in Brighton, Boston, MA. The position involves co-teaching, providing inclusion support, and managing a caseload of Special Education students. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least two years of full-time experience as a classroom or special education teacher, preferably in an urban education setting.
- Hold a valid and appropriate Special Education license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, or can obtain the licensure within a year of the date of hire.
- Belief that all students can and will succeed.
- Desire to continually improve their practice as a teacher by taking and implementing feedback.
- Proven record of student success and achievement.
- Demonstrate an ability to work well on a team, and a willingness to support others in doing their best work.
Responsibilities
- Provide inclusion support and instruction in regular education classes containing IEP students, and when absolutely necessary, teaching separate classes.
- Help manage the school’s Special Education programming, including completion of necessary paperwork and filing, teacher professional development, management of parent and student communication, administration of student testing/screening, and upholding of applicable Department of Elementary and Secondary Education compliance requirements.
- Uphold high academic and behavioral expectations for students, and provide support for students to meet these expectations.
- Participate actively in Match’s coaching and professional development programming.
- Assist with school programming as needed during non-instructional time.
- Serve as a positive and collaborative member of the Match Charter Public School community.
