High School Special Education Teacher (LBS1)
About The Position
Cross Country Education is hiring 8 dedicated LBS1 Special Education Teachers to support student success during the 2026–2027 school year in Chicago, IL. This role involves delivering specialized instruction for high school students with mild-to-moderate disabilities. The teacher will develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that address each student's academic, social, and emotional needs. Building meaningful relationships with students, using positive behavior management and crisis intervention strategies, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create flexible, student-centered learning environments are key aspects of this position.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement for high school
- Strong behavior management skills
- Strong crisis intervention skills
- Strong collaborative problem-solving skills
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree preferred
- Experience supporting high-risk or opportunity youth preferred
