Provide support to the instructional process by serving as a teacher with the specific responsibility of developing special education students’ success in communication, social interaction, independent functioning, and academic achievement. This role involves establishing baseline functioning for students in various areas, balancing diverse student needs, and facilitating Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings. The teacher will collaborate with related service providers and general education teachers, collect and interpret student progress data, and maintain special education documentation. Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, differentiating instruction, supervising students, managing behavior, and communicating with parents. The role also involves administering developmental and state assessments, conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and performing home visits. Adherence to Head Start, NAEYC, and IDEA Special Education guidelines is required. The position also includes inputting DRDP data weekly and rating data three times per year.
