About The Position

The Manchester School District is seeking a High School Special Education Teacher specializing in Life Skills. This role involves developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students aged 16-18, creating and implementing pre-vocational programs for students up to age 22, and case managing students within the program. The teacher will plan a program of study tailored to individual student needs, create a classroom environment that supports pre-vocational training within the school, guide the learning process towards IEP goals, and employ appropriate instructional methods and materials.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.
Requirements as set by the State of New Hampshire Certification Authorities and Board of School Committee regulations.
State of NH Teacher Certification in Special Education (1900) or other approved certification status may be considered.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students aged 16 to 18.
Create and implement pre-vocational programs for students who will remain in school until they are 22 years old.
Case manage students in the program.
Plan a program of study that meets individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
Create a classroom environment that provides pre-vocational training around the school for students.
Guide the learning process toward the achievement of IEP goals and objectives.
Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated goals and objectives.
