About The Position

The Charles School at Ohio Dominican University (TCS@ODU) is seeking a High School Spanish Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. TCS@ODU is dedicated to urban students in Central Ohio, preparing them for lifelong learning and informed citizenship through early college exposure in a supportive environment. The school fosters ownership and responsibility for education, aiming to ensure students' success in college, the workplace, and beyond. The classroom teacher is responsible for educating each student, collaborating with students, parents, and staff to achieve the school's mission and goals. TCS@ODU's vision is to pursue excellence by providing a safe and innovative learning environment that cultivates a growth mindset, supports social and emotional learning, and bridges the transition to post-secondary aspirations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Valid Ohio Educator License related to teaching area
  • Pass BCI and FBI background check
  • Pass Educator Licensure conduct review

Responsibilities

  • Teach a full course load (6, 47-minute periods with one prep period daily) of Spanish or elective courses.
  • Develop syllabus, grading expectations, course sequence, title, and all course details in conjunction with building leadership, department, and counseling team.
  • Develop a caring and nurturing classroom environment where all students can contribute, learn, express themselves, and deepen their growth as lifelong learners.
  • Follow building guidance regarding parental communication, classroom management norms, and PBIS expectations.
  • Write, implement, and evaluate Crew lessons with building leadership and grade level teams.
  • Develop Crew class culture to reflect the school's mission, vision, and core values.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities and duties to help the school function safely and effectively, as determined by the building leadership team and shared across the instructional team.
  • Utilize digital platforms for work, communication with stakeholders, and informing students of grades.
