About The Position

Attleboro Public Schools is seeking a High School Security Officer for Attleboro High School. This role is crucial in providing security within the high school setting, ensuring a safe and orderly environment for students and staff. The position involves monitoring building activity, enforcing policies, and assisting administration and teachers as needed. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with high school students, possess strong conflict resolution skills, and be familiar with basic communication and data entry tools.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Three years' experience in security/public safety work
Training in conflict resolution
Familiarity with email, text messaging, and data entry.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree preferred
ALICE (or equivalent) Safety training preferred
Safety Care (or equivalent) Restraint training preferred
Friendly, comfortable working with high school students.

Responsibilities

Ability to de-escalate student to student conflict and student to teacher conflict.
Monitors building activity to ensure student safety by walking the building frequently.
Monitors and enforces parking procedures, checks parking identification stickers, and parking lots.
Monitors cafeteria as needed.
Assists the administration as needed by electronically recording student attendance.
Stands outside before and after school to oversee students entering and leaving the building; boarding buses; etc.
De-escalate student to student conflict.
Assists in student search when applicable.
Assists teachers on an as-needed basis.
Assists administrators with emergencies.
Any other duties as assigned by the Principal.
Other duties as needed.
