About The Position

Albany Technical College seeks a highly motivated, results-oriented individual to fill the position of High School/Secondary Education Initiatives Coordinator. Under general supervision of the Director of Enrollment and or VP of Student Affairs, this individual will assist state, secondary and postsecondary instructional leadership in the planning and development of career programs of study, with the dual enrollment opportunities to high school students in the service delivery area that lead to either an industry recognized credential, postsecondary certificate of credit, diploma or associates degree. He/she will provide Dual Enrollment Program admissions information to high school, home school, and private school students and their parents, ensuring that the parents have adequate information. The Coordinator coordinates recruitment and enrollment activities for future students and the community, assists with information dissemination, parent/student/community outreach, recruitment, advisement, admissions, and course registration. He/she will also monitor the academic progress of Dual Enrolled students and communicate information to secondary education officials, assist in the coordination and/or administration of the Accuplacer college entrance exam, and collect and analyze Dual Enrolled student participant data. He/she will assist in attaining text books for dual-enrolled students, to include coordinating book orders with campus bookstore and ensuring student accounts remain accurate. The Coordinator will serve as the liaison with educational, industrial, and community partners to encourage cooperation and partnerships for dual enrollment within the service delivery area. Serving in this position will be essential to the effective collaboration between the secondary education entity and the College, if issues arise regarding testing, registration, schedules, and/or grades, and will foster seamless education opportunities for the service delivery area, Baker, Calhoun, Clay, Dougherty, Lee, Randolph and Terrell county students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and Two (2) years of work related experience.
  • Knowledge of the college’s admission and financial aid guidelines and procedures.
  • Knowledge and understanding of how high school and college calendars, registration, graduation requirements and schedules work together.
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
  • Good oral and writing communication skills.
  • All male applicants between the ages of 18 and 26 years of age must present proof of Selective Service Registration.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated one to three (1-3) years’ professional experience in a secondary and/or post-secondary education setting.
