About The Position

St. Vincent High School is seeking a full-time Science Teacher to support its mission of Catholic education by planning, guiding, and evaluating student learning. The teacher will foster academic excellence while integrating faith, values, and critical thinking into the classroom to support the development of the whole student.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Education required
  • Valid teaching certification required
  • Strong knowledge of high school science content
  • Effective communication and classroom management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff
  • Commitment to supporting a Catholic school environment

Responsibilities

  • Articulates and acts in accordance with the Philosophy of Catholic Education, archdiocesan policies related to the religious dimension of the Catholic school, and the school's mission statement.
  • Participates in studies of Church documents related to Catholic education and in reviews of the school's mission statement.
  • Makes decisions congruent with the Philosophy of Catholic Education, archdiocesan policies related to the religious dimension of the Catholic school, and the school's mission statement.
  • Expresses support for religious education and faith formation programs for students and faculty.
  • Expresses a commitment to Catholic education as a ministry of the Church and a personal apostolate.
  • Integrates Church doctrine, including social teaching, Gospel values, and global perspectives into subject area instruction.
  • Demonstrates respect for all forms of life.
  • Makes decisions that reflect charity and justice.
  • Seeks reconciliation when dealing with problem situations.
  • Renders service by sharing time and talent with people in and beyond the school community.
  • Speaks to and acts in a respectful and patient manner toward members of the school community.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity and compassion toward the needs and concerns of members of the school community.
  • Handles situations fairly and consistently.
  • Exercises good stewardship of school resources and promotes a sense of stewardship for school property among students.
  • Expresses sensitivity to ethnic, cultural, physical, intellectual, and gender differences.
