About The Position

Success Academy is a growing network of public charter schools in New York and Florida, dedicated to providing a rigorous, whole-child education. They are looking for SAT Prep Teachers for the School Year 2026-27. The role is designed to build teachers, and a background in education is not required. The position involves equipping students with the tools, training, and coaching to succeed on the SAT, transforming how they think, solve problems, and perform under pressure. Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree before your first day of work with Success Academy (a background in education is not required).
  • Strong command of SAT Math and/or Reading & Writing content and strategy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for learning and an unwavering commitment to student development.
  • Ability to work in person in New York City.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, targeted SAT prep lessons in Reading & Writing and/or Math aligned to the current digital SAT format.
  • Teach test-taking strategies, time management, process of elimination, and question-type recognition alongside core content.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technologies (including SAT-specific platforms) to enhance student performance.
  • Manage a classroom of 20+ scholars in a focused, high-energy environment.
  • Administer and analyze regular practice tests to identify student strengths, weaknesses, and score trends.
  • Use diagnostic data to personalize instruction and target the highest-leverage skill gaps.
  • Provide timely, specific feedback to help students improve section scores and overall performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of student practice scores, progress, and readiness.
  • Establish and enforce classroom norms and procedures that support focused, test-like conditions.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and guardians about score progress, pacing, and strategies for at-home practice.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers, school leaders, and college counseling staff to align SAT prep with broader college readiness goals.
