About The Position

This position of Registrar is responsible for serving as the primary point of contact for internal and external individuals (students, staff, parents, and the public) to register, enroll, and withdraw students at a high school. The role also involves participating in the development, administration, and maintenance of the computerized class scheduling system for the assigned school and performing administrative support tasks. Requirements

  • A high school education or the equivalent.
  • Two years of increasingly responsible administrative support work or records maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of standard office policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of automated information systems software.
  • Knowledge of customer service techniques and principles.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Skill in performing data entry techniques.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to meet established District attendance expectations and procedures.
  • Ability to be available to staff and the general public during business hours.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate information to determine the accuracy of data.
  • Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to work with hostile and angry individuals in a calm and diplomatic manner.
  • Ability to maintain a working relationship with District staff, parents, and the general public.
  • Ability to review and maintain detailed information.
  • Ability to work independently and meet established deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Work experience in a school environment is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and related laws and procedures regarding schools is preferred.
  • Valid first aid and CPR certificate, if assigned to a health clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate the registration process to enroll and/or withdraw students, including requesting student records and verifying student's home address and immunization records.
  • Register students in district special programs.
  • Participate as a team member in the development, administration, and maintenance of the district’s computerized class scheduling system.
  • Maintain course master list and update it as necessary.
  • Prepare reports, including enrollment numbers and full-time equivalents.
  • Maintain student records, including review of foreign transcripts, student addresses, enrollment data, academic records, and cumulative files.
  • Track enrollment eligibility, verify documents, and manage ELL status.
  • Act as a liaison with the student placement office and schools (within and outside of the District).
  • Greet and orient new families and students to the District’s policies and procedures relating to mandated forms.
  • Organize and prepare student information packets.
  • Schedule students in courses and sections as determined by the academic counselor/administrator.
  • Process student withdrawals and transfers.
