About The Position

Kelloggsville High School is seeking a High School PE Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. The ideal candidate will be able to teach physical education classes consistent with the school district's goals and objectives, utilizing current instructional methods and differentiated instruction. This role involves developing students' skills in physical fitness, rhythm and dance, coordination, agility, exercise, and sports. The teacher will be responsible for creating and maintaining a positive, safe, and effective learning environment, managing the classroom, and fostering positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community. A commitment to equity, inclusion, and cultural competence is essential.

Requirements

  • Current Michigan Teaching Certificate with MB + MA Endorsement required
  • Ability to teach physical education classes consistent with school district goals and objectives
  • Knowledge of current physical education instructional methods
  • Knowledge of differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles
  • Knowledge of, and develops skills and abilities in, physical fitness, rhythm and dance, coordination and agility, exercise, and sports
  • High level of organizational skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective classroom management for learning
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive and safe learning environment for all students
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with parents, staff, students, and the public in a multicultural and multiracial community
  • Knowledge and awareness of own cultural identity and how this influences behavior, and desire to learn about the cultural identity of others
  • Ability to establish and nurture an environment that promotes cultural competence and equitable treatment of staff, students, and patrons of the District
  • Ability to recognize that each person is a unique individual even as we celebrate their group cultural heritage.
