About The Position

Educational assistant to work with students on Reading, Language Arts, Math, Behavior. Provide instruction to students who are academically at risk and/or high need. Provide personal care, including attending to hygiene issues, to students with disabilities. Instructional tutoring will be through one-on-one or small group settings. Supervise students during free times including lunchroom or locker rooms. Provide special services support, including behavior management and behavior contracts, basic skills instruction, demonstrate/teach/and model appropriate social skills and interaction. Must have experience or disposition to work with potentially aggressive/assaultive youth. Other duties to be assigned.

Requirements

• Pass the ETS Para-Pro Assessment, or meet the minimum college credit requirements.
• H.S. diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to keep accurate daily records.
• Ability to communicate clearly with teachers.
• Must be consistent, positive, and fair in dealing with students.
• Must be flexible with daily schedule.
• Ability to work as a member of the building team.
• Verification of identity and United States work authorization must be completed before employment commences.
• Must be fingerprinted.
• Employment is contingent upon clearance by the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with middle school students preferred.
• Knowledge of special education disabilities preferred.
