About The Position

iCademy Global is a tuition-free, K-12 virtual school headquartered in West Michigan. We know that a great education doesn't have to take place in a classroom. It's about personalized attention between teachers and students, parents and teachers, and students and their peers. When students, families, and staff work together as a community, it gives students all the tools they need to reach their goals. We are seeking a High School Mentor and Elective Teacher to provide engaging, standards-aligned instruction to students in grades 9-12 in a primarily virtual environment with limited on-site expectations.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher
Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement in one of the following areas or ability to obtain (GH, GX, GQ, TE, IX, TX OR CIP codes: 10.0301, 11, 14, 15, or 52)
Experience teaching/coaching high school students
Strong communication and organizational skills
Comfort using technology and virtual learning platforms
Reliable internet access and appropriate home workspace required

Nice To Haves

Experience in a virtual or blended learning environment
Familiarity with Michigan Academic Standards
Experience working with diverse student populations

Responsibilities

Build positive relationships with mentee students and families
Advocate for students with the teaching team and hold students accountable to academic and engagement expectations
Help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally
Deliver high-quality high school elective instruction aligned to Michigan Academic Standards
Plan and facilitate asynchronous lessons
Assess student learning and provide timely feedback
Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including students with IEPs and 504 plans
Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and documentation
Communicate regularly with students and families
Collaborate with colleagues and support staff
Participate in meetings, professional learning, and required school events
Uphold iCademy Global policies and expectations
