About The Position

James Irwin Charter High School is seeking a dedicated High School Math Teacher to teach upper level math (AP Calculus and Statistics) and support student mastery of mathematical concepts. The ideal candidate will create an engaging classroom environment, use effective instructional strategies, and foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or related field preferred
• Teaching experience preferred but not required
• Strong content knowledge and communication skills
• Ability to build rapport with students and support diverse learners
• JICHS follows the Colorado Department of Education requirements for Highly Qualified standards in hiring teachers of core subjects.
• Candidates must demonstrate subject matter competency through at least one of the following: Endorsement in the assigned field; Degree in the assigned field; Passing score on a Colorado-approved content exam (Praxis); 36 semester credit hours in the assigned field; or National Board Certification in the assigned field
