About The Position

KIPP Indy Legacy High School is seeking a highly motivated high school math educator with a track record of instructional excellence and dedication to student success. KIPP Indy teachers are responsible for delivering rigorous instruction in Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus to produce strong student outcomes and understanding. Requirements

  • Valid Indiana teaching license or reciprocity process underway for a valid out-of-state license (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a related field (required).
  • Mastery of Algebra content (required).
  • Commitment to the KIPP mission and the Indianapolis community (required).
  • Pass a criminal background check, as required by law (required).

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in high school math (preferred).
  • Strong record of helping students in underserved communities succeed (preferred).
  • Expertise in using data to guide instruction (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lesson plans and curricula in alignment with state and school guidelines for Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and effective teaching strategies.
  • Regularly track and analyze student data to inform instructional practices.
  • Maintain an organized, inclusive, and focused classroom environment that fosters academic achievement.
  • Implement school-wide and classroom management policies to create a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Establish strong communication with students’ families to support their success and build a positive school community.
  • Participate in school-wide events, family conferences, and professional collaboration with colleagues.
  • Use formative assessments and data to make instructional decisions that promote academic growth.
  • Adapt lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with IEPs and LIP students.
  • Embrace feedback and collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve teaching practices.
  • Participate actively in ongoing coaching, observation and feedback cycles, team learning, and required professional development; implement feedback and agreed-upon action steps to strengthen instructional practice.
