About The Position

Responsible for instructing secondary-level students in appropriate subject area, in coordination with current curriculum and within the framework of ICAP Quality Standards and state content standards. This role involves teaching 4 sections of "Freshman Firebird" (Individual Career and Academic Plan Course) and requires a commitment to student diversity, family engagement, and adherence to school policies. The teacher will create a positive classroom environment, develop and implement standards-based lesson plans, instruct students in various settings, and design assessments to monitor student growth. Additionally, the teacher will serve as an advisor to a small group of students, maintain documentation, and communicate progress to parents and staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience instructing students in a classroom setting preferred
  • Criminal background check required for hire
  • Valid Colorado teacher license with appropriate endorsements preferred
  • CPR and first aid training will be required at hire

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an advisor to a small group of students and actively work to develop a professional, respectful, and trusting relationship with advisees.
  • Administer, edit, proofread, and grade students' assignments and assessments in a timely manner.
  • Monitor student growth and progress, adapt support as needed, and maintain documentation pertinent to academic, social, and emotional progress and needs of students.
  • Communicate students' progress, and needs with parents/guardians and other staff as needed.
  • Complete before-school duty, after-school duty, and/or lunch duty.
  • Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
