About The Position

Jupiter Christian School is seeking a High School History Teacher who is passionate about history and integrating faith into the curriculum. This role involves teaching college-level AP courses and U.S. History, fostering critical thinking, and modeling a Christian faith. Teachers are encouraged to engage with students beyond the classroom through clubs, events, and mentorship programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in History, History/Social Science Education, or a related field.
  • A follower of Jesus Christ with a clear testimony of personal faith and active involvement in an evangelical local church.
  • A Christian role model to students, parents, and colleagues (1 Timothy 4:12), in and out of school.
  • Supports and serves well under school leadership, and communicates with integrity, discretion, and respect.
  • A collaborative teammate and lifelong learner who enjoys growing alongside students.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Education or History.
  • Three or more years of teaching experience.
  • AP teaching experience or AP training.
  • Florida teaching certification in Social Science or History (6–12).

Responsibilities

  • Teach High School History, including AP U.S. History, AP World History, and U.S. History.
  • Integrate a biblical worldview into instruction and help students think critically about history and their place in God’s story.
  • Create a positive, safe classroom that supports students’ spiritual, academic, emotional, and social growth.
  • Plan engaging lessons using the JCS curriculum guides, and contribute to updating them.
  • Differentiate instruction and design learner-driven activities that meet every student where they are.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction; communicate progress clearly with students, parents, and administration.
  • Use technology for teaching and productivity (Office 365, Canvas) and explore new digital tools.
  • Collaborate with your department and grade-level team; maintain accurate classroom records and resources.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, trainings, and select evening events (Curriculum Night, Open House, Parent Conferences).
  • Serve on a school committee and as a chaperone or advisor for activities such as REACH week, retreats, clubs, and advisory.
  • Sponsor a “Plus-One”: at least one co-curricular or extracurricular opportunity for students each year (paid or volunteer).
