About The Position

The College & Career Readiness Coach, also known as the High School Graduation Coach for the 2026-2027 school year at Luella High, is responsible for identifying at-risk students, developing school-wide support systems, providing direct services and case management, developing transition programs, building relationships with parents and the community, and reporting on student progress and program effectiveness. This role is crucial in ensuring students stay on track for graduation and post-secondary success.

Requirements

Hold or be eligible for any Georgia certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
At least three years of experience working with students at any level; successful experience working with at-risk students.
Working knowledge of appropriate strategies for reducing behaviors that put students at risk of not graduating from high school.
Ability to analyze, develop, implement, and track intervention plans and strategies.
Ability to manage and analyze/disaggregate student test data.
Strong computer knowledge of various software programs for entering, retrieving, presenting, and reporting data.
Ability to work well with students, parents, staff, and the community.
Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
Must abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.
Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.

Responsibilities

Identify at-risk students by reviewing and analyzing state-wide and local assessment data, including attendance and behavioral data.
Conduct and analyze ongoing formative and summative evaluation data of program effectiveness.
Utilize available data to adjust student interventions as appropriate.
Conduct an analysis that focuses on data for individual students and subgroups using prescribed tools and/or assessments.
Collaborate with faculty and administrators to identify and meet the needs of at-risk students.
Design, implement, and coordinate an array of programs, services, and resources that will benefit students at risk, as well as the entire student population.
Participate in school and district teams designed to develop and monitor student interventions.
Coordinate a transition program for 9th graders to successfully adapt to the rigor of high school.
Work with faculty and administrators to develop a credit recovery program and to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of identified at-risk students.
Attend and redeliver as appropriate all required High School Graduation Coach training provided by the District, Georgia Department of Education, and/or other collaborative partners.
Develop and implement individual, small group, and whole school intervention and prevention strategies to increase the likelihood that students will stay in school and graduate.
Work with students to develop an education and career plan to include the best program of study to meet academic, graduation, and post-secondary goals.
Collaborate with feeder middle school(s) to identify students at-risk of high school failure.
Conduct vertical team meetings among middle and high school faculty and staff.
Develop action steps to improve individual student and subgroup transition success rates.
Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and/or advisors to assure the development of transition programs to help students successfully adapt to the high school experience.
Connect individual students and their parents/guardians with relevant community organizations and programs, including appropriate post-secondary opportunities.
Develop or work with local mentoring programs, business and/or community partners to connect individual students with mentors.
Provide support and outreach to parents/guardians of students identified as being at risk of not graduating.
Track the progress of individual students and school subgroups as they progress toward graduation.
Provide and submit reports as requested.
