About The Position

This position is for a High School Football Program Assistant within the Hemlock Public School District. The role involves assisting with the football program, including coaching, developing strategies, and working collaboratively with student athletes, administration, and staff. The assistant will also be responsible for encouraging student participation and supporting other sports programs.

Requirements

Successful coaching experience.
Background that includes a high level of football knowledge.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of best practices in coaching.
Experience working as part of a collaborative team.
Willingness to meet all Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) course requirements.
Obtain current certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED usage.
Meet requirements for a background check and fingerprinting.

Nice To Haves

HPSD certified professional educators desired but not required.
Alternate qualifications may be considered.

Responsibilities

Assist with the high school football program.
Coach student athletes in large groups, small groups, and individualized settings.
Develop and use strategies to improve individual and team play.
Encourage student participation in the sport.
Work with other coaches by supporting and encouraging students to participate in other sports.
Communicate with players, parents, and other coaches.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure student success and a positive school climate.
Support and encourage students to participate in other sports.
