About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Firefighting Instructor to lead our high school Firefighting Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. This role involves teaching firefighting fundamentals, safety procedures, and emergency response techniques, developing lesson plans aligned with state CTE standards, and supervising hands-on training and live demonstrations. The instructor will prepare students for certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and Firefighter I, and collaborate with local fire departments for field experiences and mentorships.

Requirements

  • Must be certified as a fire fighter by the Division of State Fire Marshal, Bureau of Fire Standards and Training
  • A minimum of two (2) years of occupational experience or the equivalent in part-time experience in fire fighting occupations, OR a minimum of six years of occupational experience or the equivalent in part-time experience in fire fighting occupations
  • Must have and maintain Florida Fire Instructor Certification issued by the Division of State Fire Marshal, Bureau of Fire Standards and Training
  • Meet the training and certification standards established by the Department of Financial Services, Division of State Fire Marshal, administered through the Bureau of Fire Standards and Training (BFST)
