About The Position

This position involves teaching English to students in grades 9-12. The teacher will be responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering instructional programs that uphold high expectations for all students. This includes developing developmentally appropriate, research-based instruction aligned with Kentucky's learning goals and outcomes. The role also requires assisting administration in implementing board policies, school rules, and maintaining classroom behavior. Accurate record-keeping, professional conduct, and collaboration with various stakeholders are essential. The teacher must maintain regular attendance and adhere to the professional code of ethics. Performance will be evaluated according to the Board policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.

Requirements

• Kentucky certification to teach English grades 9-12
• Experience and such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and deliver programs of instruction that support the premise of high expectations for all students
• Demonstrates proficiency in planning developmentally appropriate, research-based instruction that addresses Kentucky's learning goals and outcomes for students
• Assists in the administration in implementing Board policies, and administrative regulations, and school rules governing student life and conduct, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations
• Performs professional responsibilities and duties as outlined in Board policy, such as regular attendance, punctuality, attending staff meetings, serving on committees, and accepts a share of responsibility for extra-curricular activities, in-service education and professional growth
• Demonstrates effective collaboration skills among peers, subordinates, supervisors, students, and parents
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance
• Adheres to the professional code of ethics
• Performs any other such duties as so designed by the immediate supervisor/Principal
