About The Position

Bishop Dunne Catholic School is seeking an experienced High School English Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated professional who understands the joys and demands of teaching, with at least two years' experience teaching English at the secondary level and in-depth knowledge of the subject matter. Requirements

  • A masters degree in English from an accredited university
  • A valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for the subject and level assigned with an ability to teach AP and dual credit courses
  • At least two years' experience teaching English at the secondary level
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Solid technology skills for use in instructional and professional tasks
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to pass a background check and comply with the Diocese of Dallas Safe Environment Program

Responsibilities

  • Develop daily lessons that meet the goals of the classes
  • Complete grading
  • Maintain an advisory group and lead advisory group meetings
  • Perform all basic administrative duties (e.g., maintain attendance records, accurate grade books, and comment writing)
