About The Position

Tutor Partners is seeking an experienced, qualified high school English Language Arts (ELA) tutor to provide in-person tutoring services in partnership with the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) at Camp Glenn Rockey, one of its Juvenile Court Schools. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a direct academic impact with students in a specialized educational setting.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or minimum of 24 college credits required
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with students in grades 6-12
• Strong content knowledge in high school ELA, including reading comprehension, writing, and grammar
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to pass required background clearances (e.g., LiveScan/fingerprinting) as required by LACOE
• Reliable transportation to assigned site

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• experience in juvenile justice or alternative education settings a plus
• Experience supporting English Learners (EL) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide small-group and push-in ELA support aligned to student needs during the school day, including reading, writing, and English language development
• Track and report student progress
• Participate in instructional planning with teachers and school leaders, administration of assessments, and coordination meetings
• Collaborate with Tutor Partners staff and site personnel to coordinate scheduling and materials
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and professional learning environment
