About The Position

The High School Economics and Personal Finance Teacher is responsible for planning and effectively teaching economics and personal finance to high school students in grades 9-12. This role involves creating an engaging, relational, and joy-filled learning environment, integrating biblical principles into all lessons, and ensuring the physical, emotional, and spiritual safety of students. The teacher will manage the classroom effectively, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and collaborate within a team-centered environment.

Requirements

  • Must be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ.
  • Must be involved with an evangelical, protestant church of like faith and practice.
  • Must agree with the philosophies, Statement of Faith and Statement of Christian Life Commitment of Southside Christian School.
  • Willing to enroll eligible children at Southside Christian School.
  • Must be able to articulate a deep understanding of a biblically informed philosophy of Christian education.
  • Must have experience working directly with students.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills are required.
  • Must be able to obtain ACSI Certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, or related field is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a high school setting is preferred.
  • A minor in secondary education or Master's Degree is preferred.

  • Plan and effectively teach economics and personal finance to high school students in grades 9-12.

  • Include biblical integration in all lessons.
  • Engage students in inquiry-based activities.
  • Treat all students with dignity, gentleness, and respect.
  • Provide physical, emotional, and spiritual safety and security for all students by being relational.
  • Perform other duties or responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
