About The Position

Bourgade Catholic High School is seeking an engaging and innovative business teacher for its CTE Business Management program for the 2026-27 school year. The teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing an instructional program according to student needs and Diocesan Curriculum Standards, maintaining records, fostering positive school-community relationships, and continuing professional development. The role emphasizes embracing and modeling the Catholic philosophy of education, providing a positive learning environment, and integrating Church teachings into the curriculum. The teacher will evaluate student progress, maintain lesson plans, and cooperate with school programs and faculty. A commitment to continuous school improvement and professional development is expected.

Requirements

  • Must possess an Arizona Department of Education Business and Marketing Teaching Certificate by Aug. 1, 2026.
  • Must hold a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Must be certified by the Arizona State Department of Education as a CTE teacher and meet applicable NCA requirements.
  • Received Safe Environment Training and signed the Code of Conduct.
  • FBI Fingerprint clearance completed.
  • Must meet Ministry Formation Certification and/or re-certification as required by Diocesan policy.
  • Must demonstrate personal self-discipline, adaptability, and flexibility.
  • Must use good judgment in daily encounters.
  • Must use verbal and written language correctly.
  • Must demonstrate an appropriate sense of humor.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of good teaching techniques and child psychology.
  • Must maintain appropriate grooming and dress at all times as stated in the faculty handbook.

  • Preference given to Catholic teacher.
  • Willingness to make a public Profession of Faith if Catholic, or if non-Catholic, willingness to support Catholic teachings and philosophy.

Responsibilities

  • Embrace and model the Catholic philosophy of education, promoting gospel values and Catholic moral teaching.
  • Uphold the doctrinal teachings of the Catholic Church and provide opportunities for faith development.
  • Assume responsibility for the leadership and management of assigned classes, providing a positive learning environment and ensuring student safety and welfare.
  • Develop and implement an instructional program aligned with Diocesan Curriculum Standards, integrating Church teachings and using appropriate teaching strategies and technology.
  • Develop and maintain a CTE Business Management program consistent with Arizona Department of Education accountability standards.
  • Evaluate student progress using a variety of ongoing assessments and provide prompt, constructive feedback.
  • Maintain proper grading and reporting systems, meeting deadlines for official reports, attendance, and statistics.
  • Maintain daily lesson plans.
  • Establish positive school-community relationships, maintaining cooperative relations and promoting respectful school relationships.
  • Provide for regular conferences and meetings with parents.
  • Cooperate with and help promote various curricular and co-curricular programs within the school.
  • Attend and actively participate in school faculty meetings and in-services.
  • Continue professional development to remain current with religious and academic certifications, keeping informed of current instructional practices and participating in professional activities.
  • Perform any other job-related tasks deemed necessary and/or assigned by the principal.
