The Academy for Advanced Studies is seeking a School Counselor for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is part of the Family & Student Support Services division and reports to the Principal or Principal Designee. The role is FLSA Exempt and follows the Teacher salary schedule with a supplement for Middle and High School. The counselor will be responsible for managing and implementing a comprehensive, developmental, results-based school counseling program for students in grades 6-12. This includes providing direct and indirect services, individual and small-group counseling, consultation, referral skills, and implementing the school counseling curriculum. The counselor will also coordinate with school staff, assist with test interpretation, ensure students receive appropriate career and college readiness advisement, consult with staff and parents, promote community resources, advocate for equity, and engage in professional development. Adherence to local school and system policies, professional practices, and state regulations is required, including maintaining confidentiality, facilitating home-school communication, and attending meetings. The counselor will also be responsible for protecting records and equipment, supervising students, and performing other assigned duties.
