About The Position

This role is for a High School Chemistry Teacher for the 26-27 school year at TECH Freire Charter School, a grades 9-12 institution in north Philadelphia. Freire Schools is a network of charter schools dedicated to preparing students from underserved communities for college and beyond. TECH Freire specifically integrates technology and entrepreneurship education into its rigorous college-prep program. The teacher will be part of an instructional team focused on driving rigorous instruction, critical thinking, and high achievement, while being open to feedback and coaching.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required
Valid state teaching certification, or a clear ability and commitment to obtain certification
Strong content-area knowledge and instructional skill
Positive, solution-oriented mindset with a work ethic and collaborative spirit
Minimum of two years of successful experience working with diverse student populations

Teachers hired at Freire Charter High School have the opportunity to be CREW Leaders and will co-lead a class focusing on SEL and community building twice a week.
