About The Position
Green Dot is committed to providing high-quality instruction to ensure student academic success. Teachers are expected to deliver education aligned with Common Core State Standards and state college system expectations, utilizing principles of intellectual preparation and universal design for learning. Collaboration, including vertical articulation, is key to ensuring a coherent learning experience across grade levels. While adhering to Common Core, teachers have flexibility to create innovative lessons tailored to student needs and learning styles. The organization emphasizes assessment practices that reflect student learning and provides support for students to achieve their goals. Professional development and growth programs are in place to support teachers in maximizing their impact and advancing their careers. Teachers are represented by the Asociación de Maestros Unidos (AMU). New hires starting on or after September 15th will be classified as at-will, probationary employees, with a potential to transition to regular employee status at the end of the school year.
Requirements
- Have a bachelor’s degree (required)
- Have a growth mindset and love of learning
- Have strong content knowledge, pedagogical understanding, and the capacity to plan and deliver instruction to meet the needs of students

- Will need to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer
- Possess (or will possess by July 2026) a valid California Preliminary or Clear Single Subject credential in Chemistry, OR Eligible for a California Single Subject Intern credential in Chemistry (candidate must earn an Intern credential by July 2026), OR Eligible for a Short-Term Staff Permit (STSP) or Provisional Internship Permit (PIP), AND have a valid CPR certification that meets the standards established by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
- Prior to applying, visit the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (https://www.ctc.ca.gov/) to assess teaching eligibility in a California public school as of July 2026
