About The Position

The High School Business and Personal Finance Teacher is a full-time faculty position responsible for teaching business, entrepreneurship, and personal finance courses through an experiential, hands-on learning model. This role integrates classroom instruction with real-world applications to equip students with practical skills in financial literacy, innovation, leadership, and stewardship within a Christ-centered environment.

Requirements

  • Personal and professional testimony of faith in Jesus Christ, active involvement in a local church, and agreement with the school’s statement of faith.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Education, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience teaching business/entrepreneurship or working in a business-related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect academic concepts to real-world applications.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to mentor high school students.

  • Design and deliver engaging, project-based, and experiential lessons that develop an entrepreneurial mindset, including budgeting, financial management, marketing, customer service, and innovation.
  • Create opportunities for students to apply business concepts through simulations, student-led projects, and applied learning experiences.
  • Assess student learning using a variety of methods; provide timely feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Mentor students individually and in teams, fostering creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and ethical decision-making aligned with a biblical worldview.
  • Communicate consistently and professionally with parents regarding student growth and performance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and continuous improvement of the business and finance program.
  • Lead and facilitate hands-on, student-driven learning environments that reinforce classroom instruction through practical application.
  • Teach and manage the student-run coffee shop with an emphasis on real-world application.
  • Develop structured opportunities for students to practice financial decision-making, operations, leadership, and teamwork in real-world scenarios.
  • Guide students in analyzing performance, setting goals, and reflecting on outcomes to build critical thinking and business acumen.
  • Encourage innovation by supporting students in developing and testing ideas, improving processes, and exploring new solutions.
  • Support school-wide initiatives that promote interdisciplinary and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as required.
  • Maintain regular communication with division leadership regarding program needs, scheduling, and strategic planning.
  • Uphold all MPCS policies, procedures, and standards of conduct, including those related to safety and supervision.
